![]() Listen to the hit single "Wait A Minute" | ![]() added 2008-08-20 14:49:53 Well, hello people! I am so terribly sick today it's not even funny. I rarely get sick, but it hit me like a ton of bricks yesterday morning, and it looks like I'll be having a lovely day to myself now, as I really can't go anywhere except back to bed:). If you've been following the adventures of my life, I went from Dallas down to Austin for a few weeks and spent some time writing with Jason G. out in Beaumont. We wound up finishing a song called "Maybe Georgia" which is a catchy power-ballad. After that, I went back through Dallas to say goodbye to everyone for awhile. Let's see...I guess the other "news" is that my younger brother just got engaged! This has kind of been a long time in coming, as he told his now fiance to pick her ring out a year ago. Nonetheless, the ring is absolutely gorgeous and these two are great for each other. So, naturally I am now going to be a bridesmaid for the two millionth time...good stuff (actually the 8th time). BUT...the good news is Mere (future sister) has great taste and it won't be another dress that will just have to hang in the closet. And, she's not the bridezilla type, so it won't be a drama saga all about how much money can be spent on the wedding. Anyway, congrats to them because I honestly couldn't have picked someone more perfect for my brother. (Yes, Mere, when you read this, I expect monetary compensation:) haha...Just Kidding! Oooh...it was also a wedding that took me back home for a few days the first weekend in August. A friend I grew up with got married and I sang and spent the weekend on the most beautiful ranch in the world. We stayed up all night and saw at least 12 shooting stars (stopped keeping count after that) and listened to the frogs and crickets. I forgot how gorgeous the land is in that area of Texas. The lovely people who own the ranch were incredibly kind. See, my friend lost both of her parents a few years ago and these people lost their daughter. To hear the story of how they came together would bring you chills, but it truly is a God thing and just amazing how He intertwines lives together at the right moments. Anyway, we had a great time and I'm so glad I got to have that experience before heading out. Well, I'm going to go take my medicine and hope to start feeling better soon. Hope you're all well!!!
